ZURICH - Fifa has told warring neighbours Sudan and Chad to play their World Cup qualifying matches in neighbouring Egypt.

World football's governing body said yesterday the games will be hosted at the Military Academy Stadium in Cairo on September 6 and 10.

A May 31 match scheduled to be played in Omdurman, near Sudan's capital Khartoum, was postponed after diplomatic ties were broken off between the Sudan and Chad. Their shared border runs along the troubled Sudanese region of Darfur. - Sapa-AP
