Two people were arrested for selling counterfeit tickets outside Newlands Stadium before the opening Vodacom Challenge soccer match between Manchester United and Kaizer Chiefs in Cape Town, police said yesterday.

National police spokesman Vish Naidoo said seven other people were arrested on Saturday for possession of such tickets, in addition to the two arrested for selling the tickets.

"We also recovered two unlicensed firearms and arrested two men for drinking in public and being disorderly.
