Togo have made another coaching change barely a week before the start of their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
French coach Henri Stambouli was due to sign a contract with the Togo Football Federation (FTF) on Thursday.
Instead he left the country after a dispute over who should be appointed his assistant.
Stambouli's preferred choice was Kodojovi Mawuena, but members of FTF preferred Tchanile Tchakala, assistant coach of the Togo Under-21 team.
Mawuena has now been appointed acting coach of the The Hawks. - BBC
