About 150 people were arrested in an overnight operation in the Johannesburg CBD, the city's central police said yesterday.
Inspector Xoli Mbele said the operation started on Tuesday at 4pm and ended yesterday morning at 6.
The suspects were arrested for crimes including attempted rape, armed robbery, shoplifting, theft, assault and kidnapping.
A firearm, a laptop and a bag of dagga were confiscated. - Sapa
