Police have arrested four robbers who have been preying on pedestrians along a footpath in Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg
The four thugs ambushed a man walking home yesterday and robbed him of money and his shoes.
The victim alerted police reservists patrolling nearby.
"One of the robbers was shot in the foot after he pointed a gun at one of the reservists.
"He was taken to hospital while his three accomplices are in custody," said police spokesman Balan Muthan.
