A catering truck drove into a stationary aircraft at Cape Town International Airport yesterday morning, minutes before the plane was due to take off.

The Boeing 737-800s belonged to SAA.

Head of SAA's group corporate affairs Robyn Chalmers said: "The truck was loading meals into the aircraft before departure when the front right side door was damaged."

The 137 passengers were accommodated on alternative flights to Johannesburg. None of the passengers were injured. - Sapa
