Kwaito kingpin Mandoza's wife Mpho Tshabalala says she stands by her man despite all "the things the media is saying about him".

Mpho says her husband's health does not concern the media or fans, but herself and her husband alone.

This was after Sowetan received calls from concerned fans who said they had seen Mandoza on Live, an SABC1 music show, and he did not look well.

They claimed his lips were red and that he seemed to have lost weight. Fans also asked why he was absent in the line-up of artists who performed at major festivals and concerts over the lucrative festive season.

Asked how she felt about claims that Mandoza was sick, Mpho said she was bothered by the reports, "but I'd rather keep my feelings to myself".

Asked if Mandoza was sick Mpho denied the claims.

"He is not sick. His health concerns me and him, not the media. These people who give you all these stories seem to know everything. They must tell you everything."

Asked if she was still with Mandoza, Mpho said as far as she was concerned she was still Mandoza's wife.

"Go and check at Home Affairs, or alternatively go to my house and check if we are still together. I'm tired of all this. People must leave us alone."

When Sowetan offered to visit their home, she said: "I do not want anyone in our house."
