l The forcing of children to witness sexual acts and certain parts of the body;
l The exposure and display of child pornography, sexual grooming and the engaging of sexual services of an adult is illegal;
l Sexual offences against children and people who are mentally disabled;
The law provides:
l The police with new investigative tools when investigating sexual offences or other offences involving the HIV status of the perpetrator;
l For the adoption of a national policy framework to regulate the act; and
l For the first time, the amended Sexual Offences Act includes the Department of Health in its plan to reduce the high incidence of sexual violence in South Africa.
