Police in KaNyamazane have arrested a man for at least 15 cases of murder, attempted murder and hijackings, Mpumalanga police said yesterday.

Captain Leonard Hlathi said the 25-year-old was arrested at his hide-out in Mpakeni Trust in Mpumalanga at 8pm on Wednesday.

"Police found him relaxed on his bed. They seized two Z88s and a Norinco pistol under his pillow," he said.

Hlathi said the police also found stolen furniture at the house. A white VW Golf was also found at the premises.

It had been allegedly stolen from a VIP protection unit police officer based in Nelspruit.

"He confessed that the furniture was stolen. He also confessed to 15 cases of murder, attempted murder and hijackings. But investigations will reveal that there may be more cases against him," said Hlathi.

The man alleged that a 18-year-old Mayibuye high school pupil who shot and injured a policeman in Mpumalanga was part of his gang, said Hlathi.

The man also confessed to killing Captain Solomon Sinclaire in Luhawu at KaNyamazane in August last year. - Sapa
