Colombian pop superstar Shakira has asked her fiance Antonio de la Rua to sign a prenuptial agreement before they marry in September.

Clarin newspaper in De La Rua's native Argentina claims the lawyer and son of former Argentine president, Fernando de la Rua, will be asked to renounce any right to the singer's fortune, should they divorce.

"When you are in love you have plenty of people giving you advice, and none wants to see her experience what Paul McCartney experienced," it reports.

It also claims Shakira is keen to start a family, adding, "Shakira has already made the decision to marry Antonio de la Rúa. When she was on tour in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, she also said that her wishes to become a mother, are getting more and more intense."

The couple, who have been engaged for six years, are expected to marry at a lavish mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on September 7. - Wenn
