The alleged behaviour of Joyce Mashamba in the Limpopo legislature was uncalled for.
Mashamba is the ANC's deputy chairman in the province. Not only has she brought the legislature into disrepute but she has also dented the image of the ANC. It is her responsibility to protect and promote the integrity of the legislature and to respect the views of the opposition parties in all matters pertaining to the administration and management of her portfolio.
A thorough investigation should be conducted to establish if any laws were breached in her son's appointment in the department. Disciplinary measures against the MEC must follow if there was any wrongdoing on her part. Our leaders must lead by example. Away with corruption and nepotism.
