About 297000 people will benefit from housing projects in Gauteng during the next financial year, housing MEC Nomvula Mokonyane said yesterday. A total of 58 552 houses will be built in 2007/08, Mokonyane said. The housing department has identified 145 informal settlements that will be upgraded and 209 that will be relocated to other areas.
