The Mpumalanga nurse who tried to kill her four-year-old stepson by injecting him with HIV-contaminated blood failed to appear in the Mhala regional court for sentencing yesterday.
Her attorney, Dawie Labuschagne, told the court his client was not well.
The boy, now seven, had testified in camera that his stepmother had injected him with a red liquid in 2003.
She was earlier convicted of attempted murder.
