- OH SO TIGHT: Guys, please take some hints from Rosie Motene, who has lost most of her extra weight. Who knows, it might have had something to do whith her excess baggage, Joel Phiri. But I know self-control had a lot to do with it as well. Look up 'self-control'. Pic. Tsheko Kabasia. © Sunday World.

- It appears that one's job doesn't necessarily dictate how a person dresses, after all. If it did, TV personality Basetsana Kumalo's job as producer of Top Billing and editor of Top Billing Magazine would not allow for a day off from looking fab. Pic: Tsheko Kabasia. © Unknown.

Kamogelo Seekoei and Getrude Makhafola

Like Siamese twins, you might say, they are inseparable and their names are synonymous with glitz and glamour.

Always on everyone's lips, they are the celebrity couples and we envy them because they are always there, strutting their stuff on stage or gracing a red carpet.

Some of them are married, but most pray for the day they get hitched.

Take our own Bad Boy T and Unathi, for instance. A celebrity couple they certainly are, and maybe she is secretly waiting for him to pop the big question. Who knows?

But it's hats off to US and British tabloids for their ingenuity in devising a novel way of referring to these inseparable, lovelorn superstars.

Do you know who Bennifer are? Of course, it's the assimilation, or is it a marriage, of Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner's names. There is also Tomkat, referring to Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, and Brangelina for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The Sowetan has compiled a list of our own glitterati of couples. Though some of the names did not gel, there were some nice combos:

Sonia and Leslie Sedibe combine into Lessonia.

Glamorous Amor and Joost van der Westhuizen make up the cute Joomor.

The on-off-on couple Tumisho and his socialite wife, Angel, make up an adorable Tumis'gel.

For the perpetually wrapped-up pair from Sun Goddess, Thando and Vanya Mangaliso, we have Nyando.

And we called the stylish and ever-smiling duo, Bonnie and Sisanda Henna, Sibonie.

The down-to-earth and likeable Mojo couple Zam and Nkhensani Nkosi make up Zamani.

And the less exciting combinations were: Khandla - which sounds more like Jacob Zuma's birthplace - for Khanyi and Mandla Mthembu, the millionaire couple.

Andudo for vivacious couple Udo and Andile Carelse, which might excite, but then again might not.

So the next time you are talking about these couples, be one of the cognoscenti and don't forget their condensed names.
