A Johannesburg Hospital pharmacist and his assistant, who allegedly dispensed expired medication to a patient, have been suspended.
The pair were removed from their duties yesterday pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.
Abdul Rahman of the Gauteng Health Department said the government viewed the allegations in a serious light.
A report about the investigation is expected at the end of this month.
