R&B star Akon, pictured above, is so popular in his native Senegal that he has had to hire round-the-clock security to protect him from female, and even male, fans.
The Smack That star has developed a devoted following in his home country, and some people occasionally go too far when trying to express their admiration.
He explains: "Some people faint right in front of you.
