The search continues for the killers of a North West police officer.

He was shot after he allegedly confronted six armed men earlier spotted at his home at the weekend.

Constable Johannes Mabaso of the GaRankuwa police died at a Brits private hospital on Friday afternoon. He was shot eight times, including in the head, while in full police uniform and wearing a bullet-proof vest.

The killing was condemned by North West transport, roads and community safety MEC Jerry Thibedi, who described it as "shocking, senseless and cold-blooded".

After killing Mabaso, the robbers took his service pistol and fled in his police vehicle. - McKeed Kotlolo
