The National Empowerment Fund (NEF) said yesterday that the first of its 10 preferential procurement funding clients, Granny Seape, had repaid her loan of R1,2million, received this year.

Seape had received a contract from the National Housing Registration Council to inspect defects in houses built in Gauteng when she applied to the NEF for help.

"She serviced her debt without defaults, and demonstrates real empowerment at work," commented NEF fund manager Nhlanhla Nyembe. - I-Net Bridge
