The spat between Gagasi FM and DJ Kini Shandu has taken a bitter turn‚ with the Durban radio station planning to take legal action against him.

Kini‚ who started a new job at the SABC as a TV presenter‚ angered his bosses at Gagasi when he allegedly stopped reporting for work before officially resigning.

In a statement issued to TshisaLIVE the station claimed that it had not received his resignation to date.

“His continued failure to render his services to the station as per his contract is in breach of the independent contractor agreement with Gagasi FM. Shandu’s contractual obligations with the station still stand‚” Gagasi FM spokesperson Khulekani Shandu said.

Khulekani said the station was “disappointed” with the way Kini apparently handled the situation and planned to take legal action against. “The station was left without a choice but to pursue legal recourse on the matter.”

Kini’s management refused to comment on the situation and all attempts to contact the DJ were unsuccessful.

Kini hosted The Big Bang each weekday on the station between 12 noon and 3pm.
