Television actress Brenda Ngxoli was finally presented with her two South African Film and TV Awards (Saftas) on Monday after missing the actual event last month.
Yesterday, an emotional Ngxoli praised the organisers for putting together the presentation and for bringing in cameras.
"I thought I would find the awards waiting for me at the reception. But they made the presentation professional. I really appreciate that they went out of their way to make everything look lively," Ngxoli said.
She was delighted to finally win an award after being nominated many times previously for her role as Vuyo in Home Affairs.
"It is one thing to work and be called 'famous', but to be acknowledged means a lot. It is a special moment for me."
She said she cried during the presentation because it reminded her of her humble beginnings.
