FRESH from receiving his second nomination for Best Comedian of the Year for the Comics Choice Awards taking place today, comedian Loyiso Gola will receive yet another kudos.

He is set to put South Africa in the spotlight at the "Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival 2012" in Canada.

The event takes place from today until July 29. Gola will perform on July 27 and 28. This exclusive slot was secured by Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122), a comedy channel.

He will perform two stand-up sessions at the prestigious comedy festival as it builds up to its climax.

Gola will join an elite group of comedians to have performed at the festival - the biggest and most prestigious comedy festival on the planet.

The event, which this year celebrates 30 years of comic excellence, boasts a glittering line-up of international comedy greats including the likes of The Muppets, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Carr, Lewis Black, Jim Jefferies, Bob Saget, Aziz Ansari, Chelsea Handler and many more.

Gola said he was thrilled to be given the opportunity to attend the festival. "I have always wanted to go at some point of my career, and I'm very grateful that Comedy Central has chosen me to attend ...."

Gola is famous for the groundbreaking success of his satirical television show Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola on e.tv and eNews.
