THE South African Revenue Service owes value added taxpayers R1,7billion in refunds that have run beyond the three-weekdeadline.
Disclosing this in a written reply to a question in Parliament yesterday, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan blamed "verification procedures" which are taking longer than 21 working days to finalise.
