Khune thanks fans after successful surgery

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has thanked the fans for their support after having a successful knee surgery on Friday.

Khune sustained an injury before their Telkom Knockout semi-final clash against Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium a week ago.

"Signing out at hospital after a successful surgery this morning. Thank you very much for all the prayers and messages of support," Khune said on his social media site.

"I deeply appreciate you guys for being part of my journey even if it has its ups and downs; you all stuck and still believed in me."

Chiefs’ shot-stopper was announced in Bafana Bafana squad to face Angola in World Cup qualifier but the national team was forced to replace him Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabogwane.

His time from an knee break is estimated at around four to six weeks.
