Is frustrated George Lebese headed for the Kaizer Chiefs exit door?

Cape Town's rival Premier Soccer League clubs lit up Twitter after beleaguered Kaizer Chiefs forward George Lebese vented his feelings in a 140 characters or less.

The frustrated forward tweeted that he needs more game time after another frustrating season with Chiefs‚ who haven't won a trophy in two seasons.

Chiefs finished fourth while having to endure early Cup competition exits at the hands of Cape Town City (MTN8 quarterfinals)‚ Free State Stars (Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinals) and SuperSport United (Nedbank Cup quarterfinals).

Five best performances away from home that can inspire Bafana in Nigeria: In picturesIt is always tough to get a result in Nigeria for any visiting side‚ not least a South African selection that has never won there before.

Lebese made a paltry 25 appearances in all competitions this past season with only 16 starts.

“All I wanna do is to play football irregardless of what color tshirt I have on‚” a clearly frustrated Lebese tweeted.

While he had time to respond to a follower by saying no to a move‚ Cape Town rivals Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town were quick to jump on the bandwagon.

City‚ the John Comitis-owned club‚ came in with the proverbial two-footed tackle with a meme saying:”You've got my attention”.

Having being second best to their new rivals for the best part of the season‚ Ajax Cape Town responded to the tweet‚ befitting the bridesmaids they have played to their neighbours: How about red and white?”

Soweto Derby Carling tickets cost R70 to R170Tickets for the Carling Black Label Cup between Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are on sale, the organisers said yesterday.

Former Orlando Pirates striker Lennox Bacela perhaps had the most telling response from a professional:”Welcome to the Mother City.”

Incendiary Chiefs fans of all shapes and sizes took aim at the hapless striker‚ with some branding him as lazy and not willing to work for his place.

Some were sympathetic‚ perhaps mindful of his game breaking contributions under Stuart Baxter when AmaKhosi won four trophies‚ including two league titles‚ in three seasons.

One tweep @terabytemaheso reminded Lebese of his Mamelodi roots and quickly reminded him of where he should be plying his trade.

'Me‚ I don’t understand this football. But what do you want?' - LoscuitoBlack Leopards coach Jean-Francois Loscuito is looking forward to playing “real football” in the Limpopo derby against Baroka FC in the play-offs on Wednesday at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“It shouldn't even come to that. You're a great talent. They should let you come home to Sundowns to play CAF football‚” with a picture of Lebese with a Mamelodi Sundowns replica jersey from the 2006/07 season attached.

The response from @MGG_Mdluli was equally witty‚ yet had all the pain of a resigned Chiefs supporter: “This one they can have.”
