Erasmus now the only concern as Bafana departs for Nigeria

Just Kermit Erasmus‚ with a stomach bug and a possible hamstring strain‚ remains from any niggling injury concerns Bafana Bafana had ahead of Saturday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria in Uyo.

Centreback Rivaldo Coetzee and striker Tokelo Rantie have resumed full training from seven injury concerns at the start of the camp.

France-based striker Erasmus is now the only concern as the team departs on Wednesday for Nigeria for their opening Afcon 2019 qualifier‚ also the first match in his second tenure for new South Africa coach Stuart Baxter.

"The staff have managed our injuries very well.

"The only concern we have at this moment is Kermit Erasmus‚" Baxter said ahead of his team's final training session ahead of the flight to Lagos at FNB Stadium on Wednesday morning.

Bafana fly to Lagos on Wednesday afternoon‚ then to Uyo‚ the match venue‚ on Thursday.

"Kermit has had a stomach bug and because of that he's lost a lot of fluids and been getting cramps‚ and has got a little hamstring feeling‚" Baxter said.

"And we don't know if it's a cramp or a hamstring. It's a slight one‚ but it's a concern. He may not make the full session today.

"That's the only concern we've got left going to Nigeria. We'll manage him and see how he goes and that may affect my selection and it may not.

"But I think the lads have done very well in difficult circumstances."
