If you thought the bold statements by Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane are a thing of the past, then think again.

The Limpopo-based side kick off their Absa Premiership campaign against Ajax Cape Town at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight (7.30pm), and Thobejane said he is not losing sleep over their opponents.

"No, we don't worry much about the opponents because we know we are ready. It is 11 versus 11 [on match day]," Thobejane said yesterday.

"The team is ready, everything is fine and we are waiting for kick-off. It will be very entertaining. People must come in numbers and support us," said the flamboyant mentor.

Exciting winger Richard Matloga is free to play against Ajax after the dispute between Baroka and Highlands Park was settled between the two parties. Matloga had joined Baroka as a free agent, but Highlands Park insisted that the player still had a contract with them until June 2017.

According to Baroka spokesman Jimmy Ngobeni, the club has "reimbursed" Highlands Park for the player and the matter is now water under the bridge. Thobejane has hinted that at least four of the club's new signings could be in the starting 11 against the Urban Warriors, including Matloga.

Ajax, meanwhile, will be looking to improve their away record from the last campaign. Roger de Sa's men won a mere four games, drawing two and going down nine times.
