The Cheetahs have been blown away by the Hurricanes in their recent meetings prompting coach Franco Smith to select a team that will give them a firmer grip in their Super Rugby clash on Saturday.

Smith rung the changes for his side's demanding clash in Wellington and as part of his rotational policy elevated loosehead Ox Nché‚ hooker Elandré Huggett‚ tighthead Johan Coetzee‚ lock Armandt Koster‚ flank Uzair Cassiem and scrumhalf Shaun Venter from the bench to the starting line-up.

That means Torsten van Jaarsveld‚ Tom Botha‚ Francois Uys‚ Niell Jordaan and Tian Meyer all drop to the bench.

Charles Clinton Swart comes into the side replacing William Small-Smith at inside centre.

The Hurricanes have made four changes to their side‚ including a shift from flyhalf to fullback for Beauden Barrett who makes way for Otere Black‚ while regular fullback Jordie Barrett gets a breather on the bench.

In the other changes Wes Goosen replaces Corey Jane on the right wing‚ while Ben May comes in for Chris Eves at loosehead.

The clash against the defending champions is one the struggling Cheetahs should dread.

They have lost eight matches in a row‚ and will be up against a side desperate to bounce back after their defeat at the hands of the Crusaders last weekend.

The Cheetahs are yet to win away from home this season‚ conceding a whopping 23 tries in four matches on the road. In that time they have only scored eight tries.

They boast a 2012 away win over the Hurricanes but overall they have a poor record against the Hurricanes. In their last four matches against the 'Canes they have on average conceded 46 points.

The Cheetahs team is:

Clayton Blommetjies; Sergeal Petersen‚ Francois Venter (captain)‚ Clinton Swart‚ Raymond Rhule; Fred Zeilinga‚ Shaun Venter; Henco Venter‚ Oupa Mohoje‚ Uzair Cassiem; Carl Wegner‚ Armandt Koster; Johan Coetzee‚ Elandré Huggett‚ Ox Nché. Substitutes: Torsten van Jaarsveld‚ Charles Marais‚ Tom Botha‚ Francois Uys‚ Neill Jordaan; Tian Meyer‚ Niel Marais‚ Ruan van Rensburg. - TMG Digital/TMG Sport
