Usain Bolt was in cruise control as he eased to victory in his 200m Heat at the Olympic Games, while Nigeria's Ejowvokoghene Oduduru will fly the African flag in the semifinals.

Bolt, who has already won the 100m gold in Rio, effortlessly strode across the track at almost jogging pace to win Heat number nine in a time of 20.28s.

Oduduru came second behind Bolt in an impressive time of 20.34s to book his spot amongst the fast men for the semifinals on Wednesday.

Bolt's biggest competition will come from long time rival, and 100m silver medalist, Justin Gatlin while Canada's 100m bronze medal winner Andre De Grasse will also be in the mix.

Yohan Blake and Nickel Ashmeade, Bolt's Jamaican compatriots, also qualified along with American LaShawn Merritt, who took the bronze medal in the 400m.

The 29-year-old Bolt has already come out and said that he is aiming to break the world record in the 200m at this year's Olympic Games.
