Mellisa "Honey Bee" Miller's stoppage win against Sandisiwe Gxogxo in QwaQwa a few weeks ago has put her in the running for an SA title.

Free State female boxing promoter Promise Moyo confirmed yesterday that Miller, from Eldorado Park, will take on Matshidiso Mokebisi in her first defence of her SA junior featherweight belt later this month.

Moyo, of Skylon Promotions, said her tournament, funded by the provincial government, will take place at Lemotso Primary School in Thabong, Welkom, on July 28.

Mokebisi, from Kroonstad, won the title in 2015.

She then won the WBF International belt in the bantamweight class.

In her attempt to make history by winning an SA title in two weight division, Mokebisi lost to bantamweight holder Bukiwe Nonina.

But she bounced back to win another WBF regional belt in the junior featherweight league against Miller in October .

The fight on July 28 will be a rematch.

Moyo's upcoming third tournament is dubbed "Freezing Point".

She has added a provincial title fight between Gift Pilane and Jabulani Mafatle in the flyweight division.

Other fights include, Sihle "The Sting" Jelwana against Thabang Ramagole (flyweight bout, six rounds) and Morapedi "Stallion" Khotle versus Nkopane Mokoena (bantamweight, six rounds).
