Charismatic and fearless former undefeated world boxing champion, Xolisani "Nomeva" Ndongeni, says he is excited to fight in Cape Town.

Ndongeni from Duncan Village has fought 98% of his 27 fights in East London, where he commands massive support.

Ndongeni, originally from Mount Frere in the Transkei, wants to build a fan base in the Mother City where he will face Ghanaian Razak Nettey at Katzenberg Stadium on Sunday.

Their international 10-rounder will be contested in the junior-lightweight class, where Ndongeni has already won the SA, IBO and WBA Pan African belts.

"I am happy to be given the opportunity to fight in Cape Town where I have never fought before.

"I intend to use this opportunity to expand my support base," said the boxer, who is trained by Colin Nathan.

"I am not worried about Nettey despite the fact that I don't know him and I have never seen him in action.

"My intention is to stop him within the distance, but I won't rush into that.

"I will instead figure him out in the first two or three rounds and then bomb him out."

Nettey, from Accra, has 15 knockouts from 20 wins against four losses, while Ndongeni has stopped 11 of his 22 victims.

Ndongeni has enjoyed a remarkable run, having fought and defeated a number of tough nuts to crack including Patrick Malinga and Mzonke Fana.

Ndongeni beat Fana for the WBA regional belt in 2015 and thrilled American fans with his skills when he outpointed Juan Garcia Mendez in November last year.
