Komanisi headlines heritage bill

Lusanda "Schoolboy" Komanisi will headline the Heritage Celebration bill at Orient Theatre in East London next Friday.

"It will be Lusanda's homecoming bout," said promoter Ayanda Matiti yesterday, whose tournament celebrates Heritage Month.

Komanisi, from Mdantsane, will welcome Jhack "The Captain" Tepora from the Philippines in a vacant WBO Intercontinental championship.

Komanisi, a former SA and IBO featherweight undefeated champion, last fought in East London in 2015 when he retained his IBO belt with a stoppage of Filipino Roli Gasca.

Komanisi has been a professional boxer since 2007, while Tepora fought his first professional bout in 2012 and remains undefeated after 20 bouts. Tepora, 24, boasts 15 KOs.

Matiti said Lindile Tshemese will also put his SA junior bantamweight belt on line against Yanga Sigqibo, while Gift Bholo and Vusumzi Masondo will do battle for a vacant ABU Southern Regional junior welterweight belt. There will be five more bouts.
