Seema hopes Bloemfontein Celtic will stand by him

Bloemfontein Celtic caretaker coach Lehlohonolo Seema hopes to finish the season at the helm of Siwelele after starting 2017 on the back foot.

Seema replaced Serame Letsoaka, who was released in October last year.

Celtic resumed their Absa Premiership campaign after the Africa Cup of Nations break with a 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns followed by a 2-1 defeat to Lamontville Golden Arrows.

However, Seema is positive that Celtic management will let him finish the season as the club's mentor despite a rough start to the second round of the season.

"We did not have a good start after losing our first two matches, but I am optimistic that we will achieve our goals. I think I will continue with my job until the end of the season and we will take everything from there," the former Orlando Pirates captain said.

"I am positive that the club will do well in the next matches. For now our target is to stave off relegation. From there we will try to push for a top-eight finish.''

He continued: "We need a lethal striker. I will try to see if we can get someone who is a free agent to solve our goalscoring woes.''

Siwelele will hope to secure their first win of the year when they host Chippa United at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday (3.30pm).
