Majoro fires confident warning to Wits ahead of MTN8 Semifinal showdown

Striker Lehlohonolo Majoro has joined his Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler in insisting the club have a chance to claw their way back into contention for a place in the MTN8 final.

On Friday‚ Tinkler said City would launch an all out attack to try and reverse the 0-3 deficit from the first leg of the semifinal when they host Bidvest Wits in Saturday night’s second leg.

Now‚ Majoro‚ recently signed from Orlando Pirates‚ has repeated the sentiment and he says a near-hopeless situation can be reversed.

“Sure we are three goals behind‚ but it is nothing that can’t be changed if we apply ourselves and if we believe as players. We have to do everything we can to make sure things work in our favour.

“That’s not going to be easy but is it impossible? No‚ it’s not impossible‚” Majoro answered his own question.

“That’s the mentality the coach has been trying to instil in us. The effort the guys have given in training gives me the belief we can do it.”

Majoro is expected to lead the attack for City‚ who return home after two successive defeats on the road against Wits and Lamontville Golden Arrows in midweek.

The new franchise has a 100% record after winning their first two home games.

“We are still a work in progress and so far so good‚ no one gave us a chance but yet here we are in the semifinal‚” the former Bafana Bafana forward added.
