SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie has received a late call-up to the New Zealand squad that will play in the Oceania Nations Cup that starts on Saturday.

The event coincides with United's Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, but Brockie described the call-up as a massive confidence [booster].

"I missed out on the last couple of games and to be back [in the squad] is an honour and a privilege. It is something that I'm looking forward to and hopefully I can end the season on a high here [in South Africa]," said Brockie.

He will fly out straight after the final at Peter Mokaba Stadium and will miss the PSL awards on Monday where he has been nominated for the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament.

The 28-year-old has scored 27 goals in 51 starts for Matsatsantsa since joining them in December 2014. Brockie, however, desperately wants the trophy for the team.

"My main aim is winning the trophy first before any personal accolade. Obviously, it is something that I will have to thank my teammates for, because when you get nominated or win awards, the players around you are the ones that helped you.

"I will take that if it comes, but the main goal is getting the trophy. I even bought new boots for Saturday and hopefully they have goals in them."

If SuperSport win the Nedbank Cup, it will be Brockie's first trophy in a 13-year career.
