Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has told Khama Billiat to forget about his dream of finishing as the top goal-scorer in the Premier Soccer League and concentrate on his contribution as the club close in on the championship title.

The 25-year-old Zimbabwean international has scored 10 league goals and is desperate, according to his coach, to overtake Collins Mbesuma and take the Golden Boot award at the end of the campaign. Mbesuma of Mpumalanga Black Aces tops the scorer's chart with 14 this season, a lead of three over his closest rivals.

"Khama has been very, very stressed in the last games; he wants to be top goal-scorer and I pulled him aside and said, 'leave it'. 'Leave it, this is done, it's not yours. When you first came, you scored four, you scored seven and 10 this season, so you are improving your number of goals," said Mosimane.

"But you have a chance, the way you play, the way you give your heart . a chance to be the Footballer of the Year or the Players' Player of the Year'.

"Khama is at another level. OK, he's young, he makes a lot of mistakes instead of scoring the goals, but he is very important for us and he has been very important throughout the whole season. And with that small body, I give him credit."

Mosimane moved Billiat to the right-hand side for the last game against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. "He's missed a lot of chances because he's been too anxious. It worked a little bit with Keegan (Dolly) playing up front."

Mosimane criticised the tough tackling that the slightly-built Billiat has had to weather this season.

"[I don't know how] this boy hasn't broken his leg already. There is no boy who takes such a bashing. And he forever bounces back. Last week in Cape Town, the Ghanaian (Ajax Cape Town defender Lawrence Lartey) really took him out. And you saw when we played Pirates, the bashing he took."
