It is not over until last game – Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela remains optimistic about his team's performance despite failing to defend their League title hopes.

Komphela has undergone a rough first season as Amakhosi coach after taking over from well established Stuart Baxter at the beginning of the 2015/16 Premiership season.

According to the club’s official website, Komphela believes the season is not over until the last game.

"We can't continue with the same script of missed chances. Truth be told, we do create chances, but we fail to slot them in," said Komphela.

Chiefs have drawn 11 of their 25 Absa Premiership fixtures played so far this season, following a goalless draw against Ajax Cape Town at FNB Stadium on Saturday night.

"We plan to try to rectify things for the remaining matches, especially with an eye on next season. We will never lack the motivation, because a Chiefs match is always about more than just the three points. The season is not over until the last game," he said.

The Soweto giant return to the playing fold on Wednesday, April 27 when they visit University of Pretoria in an Absa Premiership encounter, kick-off is at 19:30.
