Chicken Inn no easy meal for Sundowns, Pitso warns

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has warned that his side cannot afford to be dismissive of Chicken Inn when the two sides meet in a CAF Champions League preliminary round match at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo tomorrow.

"Chicken Inn? Most people hear the name Chicken Inn and think it is a walk in the park. It is not like that," the 51-year-old pointed out.

"They have that name because they are owned by a [food] franchise.

"It is not an old team, but it is a very good team. It is a team that has stopped the four-year reign of the powerful Dynamos in Zimbabwe and they won the league convincingly. They went to the cup final in December, but lost to Highlanders."

Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas said the difficulty in facing the red-hot Sundowns is that his charges have not played competitive football recently.

"Truth be told, the game against Sundowns is going to be one hell of a fixture that will require maximum concentration, especially seeing that our opponents are halfway through their season and we're just coming out of pre-season," Antipas told Zimbabwe's Chronicle.

Sundowns have registered 24 players for this year's competition and if they progress further, they can add six more players when the second registration period opens in August.
