Chemistry. It's the word Wayne Sandilands uses to describe why Absa Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns are untouchable at the moment.

There was certainly a lot of chemistry on the pitch when they came from behind to thrash Free State Stars 5-2 in a five-star performance at James Motlatsi Stadium in Orkney on Sunday.

Even the players who do not play regularly, like Sandilands, are constantly supporting their teammates so that the team can achieve its goal of winning the Absa Premiership title.

"There's a chemistry amongst the boys that makes up a championship [winning] team. We are willing to fight for each other and dig deep. Stars scored in the first three minutes and we had the character to come back. Hopefully, we can carry on like this," Sandilands said.

"We know there's a long way to go. We cannot get carried away because we still have the Champions League and the Nedbank Cup coming up. We trying to pick up as many points as possible so that we can have some breathing space when we go into Africa."

Sandilands, who started in place of injured Denis Onyango, looks set to return to the bench for the clash against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium tomorrow. Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane expects Onyango to be back to face the Buccaneers.
