Billiat: My best is still to come!

In a season that has already yielded six goals and an equal number of assists, Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Khama Billiat warns that his best is yet to come.

The Harare-born player has been leaving defenders in his wake over the past few months, and his contribution has led to the Brazilians putting some distance between themselves and the chasing pack in the league.

"The team comes first and I come second ... everyone is putting in the effort. Things are going our way and I just hope it will stay like that," Billiat said.

"I feel good, but at the same time I know there is room for improvement. My finishing is not really on top, so there are positives and negatives about my game. I have to improve a lot ... I always want to be better. I still want to score four or five [in a game], so I don't think I will ever be satisfied any day.

"In the end, I just want to contribute and see the team celebrate at the end of the season. We want the gold medals, so we don't want to be second best."

Speaking of Sundowns' attacking players, Billiat said he's been hugely impressed by Colombian striker Leonardo Castro, who seems to be settling in very well since joining the club last year. Castro has also scored six goals, forming a deadly forward twosome alongside Billiat.

"Castro is a good player and he brings experience. He's a very clever player who knows how to position himself in the box and he makes it easy for those who play around him. I'm sure it is not only me ... we appreciate him."
