Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has resigned himself to losing midfielder Bongani Zungu to Portuguese outfit Victoria de Guimaraes at the end of the season.

Zungu was pure class in Sundowns' 3-1 victory over Free State Stars at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

It was Zungu's tackle in central midfield that led to Sundowns' first goal for Khama Billiat, and he did well to win other battles and make the team play with his long and short passes throughout the match. Themba Zwane and Hlompho Kekana scored the other goals for the Brazilians.

"The sad part is that in six months we will be losing him, but he is young and wants to pursue his career in Europe," Mosimane said after the game. "I think he should go but in my opinion he needs one more year. In one more year he will be top and then he can go to France, England or Germany.

"The team he is going to in Portugal is not the biggest team and they are not doing very well. But it's not my call. The agent says he must leave."

While other coaches have bemoaned the upcoming three- week break due to the CAF under-23 Championship in Senegal, Mosimane is delighted because it gives his key players enough time to recover from injuries before the Telkom Knockout final against Kaizer Chiefs on December 16.

"I am happy with the break because [Anthony] Laffor, [Mzikayise] Mashaba, Teko [Modise], Khama [Billiat] and [Tebogo] Langerman can recover from their injuries.
