'We are Cup kings': Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic will lock horns in the highly contested Sparta Macufe Cup at Free State Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

Chiefs has assured its supporters that be it a friendly or official match a win is must.

The Soweto giants will be without the services of Itumeleng Khune, Erick Mathoho and George Lebese who are currently on duty with Bafana Bafana.

"We can't let Bloemfontein Celtic dominate us in a match, be it a friendly or an official match," club communications manager Vina Maphosa told Chiefs official website.

"We bring a full strength team. The only missing players will be Khune, Mathoho and  Lebese, who are on duty with the South African national team.

"The last time we won the trophy was back in 2011, which is a worrying statistic. This doesn't gel well with who we are. We are Cup Kings and the No 1 football brand in South Africa."
