Pitso Mosimane believes his side Mamelodi Sundowns is the best team in South Africa because they hold more Premier Soccer League (PSL) trophies than any other team.

Mosimane says there are four cups to play for, namely: Telkom, Nedbank, League and the big one Caf Champions League which is very important for Downs' image. 

The former Bafana Bafana coach was speaking at the club media briefing ahead of their Telkom Knockout clash against Chippa United at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"Everybody is proud of Pirates' success in CAF and in the country," Mosimane told Power FM.

"It’s time Sundowns shows that they are big in the continent."

"I said it last year that Pirates is giving us hope to go into Africa. They are a best team in South Africa, continentally. History says it, facts are there."

"Locally Sundowns is the best, we've got six PSL trophies that's it."

Mosimane said other trophies are just out there to give other teams hope.
