The chant had changed to "Pitso must stay" at the end of Mamelodi Sundowns' Absa Premiership match against Jomo Cosmos on Sunday.

Pitso Mosimane, who had policemen shielding him in Atteridgeville last week, amid chaotic scenes with angry fans baying for his blood and yelling "Pitso must go", was now being hailed as "our own Sir Alex [Ferguson]" as fans pledged their support for the coach.

Some of the pressure on Mosimane was eased after the 2-0 victory over Cosmos at Olen Park, but the former Bafana Bafana coach was the first to admit his side were not playing well at the moment.

"I am humbled when the fans are behaving this way. We are under pressure and under stress. We need the points, so we have to do the business.

"But let's be honest, it was not the free- flowing Sundowns that we know. We've got pressure, that's why our game is not flowing. At this point in time we are focused on results," said Mosimane, who was, however, happy with the team's second clean sheet of the season.

"The most important thing is that we kept zero at the back. We have not kept zero at the back in a long time.

"There's a long way to go and we need to keep our feet on the ground. Confidence will come from wins. A win is medicine so we need to win our next league game against Polokwane City and win our game in the Telkom [Knockout] against Chippa. We need to go to the final."

Mosimane praised two-goal hero Keagan Dolly, who scored either side of half time to opened his account for Sundowns.

"I am happy for Keagan. To fit into Sundowns is not easy because the yellow jersey is very strong. But I am happy that Keagan has come to the party, like Khama (Billiat) came to the party and (Bongani) Zungu came to the party."
