Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler believes his team need to rediscover their winning touch in their league away fixture against Polokwane City tomorrow night, ahead of the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semifinal against Al Ahly.

Pirates have just one Premier Soccer League victory from four matches following a frustrating 1-1 draw against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Friday night.

That result followed a 4-1 defeat away against Zamalek in Bucs' final Confederation Cup group stage match a fortnight ago.

Tinkler believes a win tomorrow night against City could be vital for his side to regain confidence ahead of Saturday's semifinal first-leg match against the Egyptian giants at Orlando Stadium.

The coach was disappointed his side could not profit from a host of chances to beat Aces.

"There were periods where we dominated possession and I don't think we've done that in recent games," Tinkler said.

"I think a win against Polokwane now is vital. It builds on our confidence. You don't want to be going into a semifinal after a loss.

"We put Aces under pressure, created chances, got the goal, then took the foot off the pedal again. We started to play deep. They started to get more space and then to create more opportunities.

"With the chances we created in the second half we're disappointed to get the one point because I believe we deserved a lot more than that."

Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral was angry his side had not stuck to their game plan.

"I'm just angry - there are no excuses because we tried to play with four attackers and really put the pressure on Pirates but they put the pressure on us," he said.
