Promoter Rodney Berman has warned that welterweight boxing import Paul Kamanga cannot afford to lose against Jason Bedeman on Saturday night.

He said a defeat would blow the golden opportunity for Kamanga to fight in Monaco before the end of the year.

Berman intends to market the SA-based Congolese outside the country.

But the Golden Gloves boss said Kamanga must win well against Bedeman when they meet for the vacant WBA Pan African welterweight title.

Their 12-rounder will form part of the five-bout "Uncivil War" programme.

"There is a lot in store for Paul Kamanga. But first things first, he has a tough assignment against Jason.

"I do not want to put Paul under pressure but if he succeeds against Bedeman, he will feature in a super tournament before the end of the year," Berman said.

"We have a number of prospects in our stable, including Roman Zhailauov from Khazakstan.

"It is imperative that we keep them busy while building their careers towards bigger fights."

Kamanga is a former undefeated WBA Pan African junior welterweight champion, who remains undefeated after 16 bouts. Kamanga has predicted a knockout win.

Bedeman responded by saying "bring it on".

Zhailauov will face Bedeman's stablemate Thompson Mokwana in a non-title bout in the junior welterweight class, while Ryno Liebenberg will oppose Makhosandile Zwengu for the vacant SA light heavyweight belt.

Topping the bill will be IBO and WBA minimum weight champion Hekkie "Hexecutioner" Budler and challenger Simphiwe "Chain Reaction" Khonco.
