Danish delight as Masango scores

Mandla Masango made a big first impression on Danish football supporters when he scored on debut for Randers at the weekend.

The ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger netted with a bullet shot to give his side a 2-0 win at Aalborg, having entered the game just past the half-hour mark.

He had fans and the Danish media purring at his play, with some awarding him the Man of the Match despite not starting.

"It's a good league, it's really competitive. It's a very physical league, but I like that they keep the ball a lot and try to play good football," Masango said.

He said his time with the national team during June and July means he has no fitness worries despite his previous competitive game coming back in May as Chiefs wound down their season.

"I was working on my own with the fitness training. Playing in the national team also helped me.

"As long as I play in attacking positions, I don't mind! I will play wherever the coach prefers to play me."

Midfielder Lebogang Phiri played for Brondby as they won 2-0 at FC Nordsjælland.

Phiri and his team mates were knocked out of the Uefa Europa league last week by Greek side PAOK.

Ayanda Patosi was dropped to the bench by Belgian side Lokeren as punishment for skipping training last week as he seeks an improved contract. He came off the bench after 55 minutes of Sunday's 2-1 loss to Waasland-Beveren that saw Lokeren drop into the relegation zone.
