Free State Stars must do without Premier Soccer League Golden Boot winner Moeketsi Sekola for the trip to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, but could unleash new signing Felix Obada on the Amakhosi.

Sekola has missed the start of the new campaign with injury after his 14 goals last season saw him top the scorers charts.

Stars coach Kinnah Phiri has confirmed Sekola will be out again this weekend, admitting it was a blow but said the new signings will have to step up to the plate.

"We have recruited a lot of young players for this season but also some with great experience such as Felix Obada, who despite the problems Moroka Swallows had last season did well," Phiri said.

"He's a very good addition to our squad and is registered as a local player after his long service in the PSL. He's available ... and will come into contention for Saturday.

"Our striker from Tanzania [Mrisho Ngasa] is another [player] who gives us a lot going forward and I am looking forward to seeing how he goes.

"What I know is that we will be competitive and work extremely hard to get something from the game."
