Orlando Pirates will return to the Orlando Stadium for their remaining two home matches in the group phase of the African Confederation Cup after playing in Nelspruit earlier this month.

Pirates’ next game in Group B is a return match against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia‚ who they beat 1-0 away on Sunday night.

It will be played at the Orlando Stadium on August 8 with kick-off at 8.15pm.

Their last home game against AC Leopards of Congo on August 22 will also be played at the same venue.

This comes after Pirates took their other home match in the group phase against Zamalek of Egypt to the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

“This was only because Orlando was being re-seeded‚ not for any other reason‚” explained the club’s administrative manager Floyd Mbele on Monday.

Pirates are well back in contention for progress to the semifinal after their second away win of the Group B campaign. But they were beaten in Nelspruit by Zamalek.

Sunday’s victory in Tunisia means that if Pirates beat Sfax again in a fortnight’s time and group leaders Zamalek win against AC Leopards in Congo‚ then Pirates and Zamalek will be ensured of the top two places and progress in the competition‚ rendering the last two rounds of group matches academic.
