Dladla spotted in the Birds nest

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Josta Dladla is training with Moroka Swallows as he seeks a new beginning after leaving Amakhosi at the end of last season.

The 36-year-old did not have his contract renewed by Chiefs and is now hoping to help Swallows in the National First Division.

Although The Birds are drastically trying to reduce the age of their squad, a player of the experience of Dladla would be a welcome edition for coach Ian Gorowa.

Dladla started his career with Bidvest Wits before moving to Aarhus in Denmark in 2002.

After two-and-a-half seasons there he returned to the PSL and Mamelodi Sundowns, who he helped to back-to-back league titles between 2005 and 2007, as well as victory in the Nedbank Cup in 2008.

He joined Chiefs in January 2009 and was part of their title- winning side in 2012-13, but made just a single substitute appearance as they won the league again in the last campaign.

Also spotted training at Swallows is Siyabonga Nomvethe, who appears to have ended any speculation that he will be moving away from the club.

Nomvethe had been tipped with a transfer to Jomo Cosmos, among other clubs, but Swallows CEO Leon Prins was confident the club would keep hold of the former Bafana Bafana star.

They appear to have done that with the new season looming, and Nomvethe seemingly extending his six-season stay at the club.
