Saving Birds even bigger challenge for Rosslee

Craig Rosslee returned to the local coaching scene following a six-month hiatus, but will find his new job at Moroka Swallows even more challenging.

Rossle was sacked by AmaZulu following a win-less start to the season but in Swallows he joins a team who are in a more desperate state despite lying one place above his previous employers. The Birds have only beaten Free State Stars in what has been a terrible 2015, as they have slumped into relegation trouble.

Rosslee could not be reached for comment, but he will know his task of saving Swallows could almost turn impossible, as the club have just six more games left.

Bottom side AmaZulu, on the other hand, have found some form of late and, with a game in hand over Swallows, can close the gap on their rivals. It is understood Swallows had initially wanted to hire Clive Barker, who was demoted from his post as head coach of Mpumalanga Black Aces recently, but the Birds management decided to settle on Rosslee instead.

Rosslee is Swallows' third coach of the season after Zeca Marques threw in the towel around the same time Rosslee was fired by Usuthu.

Madida, who was brought in at the start of the season to assist Marques, lasted 15 Absa Premiership matches before also calling it quits.

Rosslee's first game is away to fellow strugglers Chippa United on April 15. - Additional reporting by Mazola Molefe
